ENVISIONING A WHOLE NEW WAY TO SHAPE YOUR FUTURE

INTRODUCING TIMESAVERS VISION™

Modular construction makes the Vision™ flexible and configurable.  One chassis can accommodate all four of our families of products:  Widebelt Sanders, Veneer Polishers, Knife Planer/Sanders, and feed through Orbital Sanders.

Contact Drum

Designed for general sanding of veneers and solid wood, Vision drumheads are equipped with dead shafts to ensure smoother running and finer finishes.  The heads are dynamically balanced and available in 11 1/2" or 17 3/4" diameter, all mounted in precision bearings.

Combi Head

The combi head incorporates a combination 11 1/2" contact roll and cam-adjustable 3" polishing platen in the same sanding head.  The contact roll and the polishing head can be used alone, or they can be used simultaneously to provide cutting and fine finishing in a single sanding head.

Knife Head

The knife head is a dynamically balanced 7 1/2" diameter helical cutter head with heavy-duty 2.5mm indexable carbide inserts.  The cutter head assembly is fixed and incorporates anti kick-back fingers, dual in-feed hold down assembly rolls and an air loaded sectional shoe.  The entire head is mounted on a slide out assembly to simplify maintenance.

Electronic Segmented Platen

Electronic Segment Platen comes with both single and dual pressure systems that ensure a consistent amount of sanding pressure is applied to the product.  As products pass through the sensor array, the number of sensors activated will determine which segment receives air pressure which allows for total control of sanding pressure - even when products are randomly fed through the Vision machine.

Cross Belt Sanding Head

The cross belt sanding head can be used as both the first and last head of the Vision machine.  It uses a 6" x 280" abrasive belt that is backed my a separate graphite chevron belt.  The cross belt is used to cut wood grain flat and remove tape used in the lay-up process.  The electronic segmented platen is fully controlled by the build in personal computer.

Dual Motion Twin Pad Orbital Head

The dual motion twin pad sanding head is designed to remove cross grain scratches in kitchen cabinet doors, face and frames and in furniture components.  Two 5" wide platens in each head improve the finish, increase abrasive life and allow higher feed speeds.  Dust collection points are mounted between the platens.  Four separate pneumatic clamped quick-change platens allow the use of various abrasive grits.

VISION FEATURES

  • Web Camera

A web cam and video card can be added to the standard controller.  The camera can be mounted at the out feed area allowing the operator to view products exiting the machine.  With the web cam, service and support technicians can remotely view and troubleshoot problems with the Vision machine. (This option requires the production package software upgrade)

  • Back Side External Motor Mount

The Vision T Frame design has the motor mounted on the external backside of the machine.  Easy on maintenance and easy on operators, this heavy-duty mount effortlessly supports motors from 15 horsepower to 125 horsepower.  This means that no matter what the application the Vision can handle high speeds  and heavy product throughput.

  • Angled Corner Panels

With all four corners of the machine chamfered to 45 degrees, the Vision is easy to work around.  Plus it's easy to see.  With an angled controller operators are always ensured easy visibility at the feed end of the machine.

  • Belt Wear Compensation Package Upgrade

This upgrade requires the Productivity Package and provides automatic adjustment of drums and platens through the PLC.  This package eliminates finish defects that come from poor machine set-up during the production run.

  • Oversized In Feed and Out Feed

The Vision makes feeding work and taking off the line easy.  With oversized in-feed and out-feed conveyor belts loading and off loading are now easier than ever.

  • Modular "T" Frame Allows Greater Flexibility

The unique design of our standard chassis with machined T rails is what makes our Timesavers Vision so flexible, modular, and configurable.  That's because this single chassis can accommodate all four of our families of products:  widebelt sanders, veneer polishers, knife planners/sanders, and feed through orbital sanders.

With the T rail design there are no preset positions for head mounting.  Instead you configure the heads you need where you need them.  With two mounting area heads, shoes, and hold-downs slide easily into place and are bolted into position.  And, if you want to change your head configuration, you simply unbolt them and exchange or relocate them.  The Timesavers Vision standard chassis comes in five different frame lengths covering practically all configurations.

  • Drumheads with Dead Shaft Drives

The Vision uses a unique dead shaft drive system.  This rigid fixed shaft provides smoother running and higher finishing levels.  Additionally, the sanding drums can be moved up or down, either manually or through the computerized controller. (see info below)  This ensures easy adjustments in or out of the cut.

PLC CONTROLS WITH PERSONAL COMPUTER BASED INTERFACE

The standard PLC Controller controls the primary machine functions at a centrally located operator panel.  The PC interface runs on the Microsoft Windows platform through a color touch screen.  Intuitively designed, the controller software utilizes pictures and symbols to make machine set-up operator friendly.  The system also allows production managers to create "recipes" remotely.  These can then be downloaded remotely to the machines.  Standard features include:

  • User friendly PC based controls

  • Intuitive color graphics illustrate machine functions and status

  • Auto-start/stop

  • Feed speed indicator

  • Hour meter/timer records running time and alerts maintenance when service is needed

  • "Recipes" create and store one-touch machine settings

  • Alarm screen

  • Spare parts list is included in the program

  • Proactive alert prompts for recommended service

  • Remote programming with network connection

PLC CONTROL OPTIONS

This hardware and software upgrade monitors and analyzes machine productivity and performance in real time.  Providing management with important information to maximize productivity, this upgrade is an invaluable performance addition.  The package also allows multiple levels of operator interaction from on-floor programming, to remote monitoring and maintenance prompts, to trouble shooting diagnosis through touch screen or Ethernet connection.  Standard features include:

  • Seven levels of password security for operators, programmers, maintenance, and management

  • Administrative screens for programming and history functions.

  • Parts Clear feature senses when parts are clear of the machine

  • Remote programming via Internet and Intranet

  • Production reports on machine operations

  • Web page reporting via Ethernet port

  • Belt wear histogram shows % of remaining belt wear life

  • Automatic email of alarms and scheduled events

  • Automatic shutdown
